Ethical Societies are called to practice Deed Before Creed and to work to help transform society toward a more ethical culture. This address promotes devoting additional time and energy to activities and projects for the benefit of the larger community.
Bart Worden is the current Leader for the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester in White Plains, New York. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Hope College in 1978 majoring in Philosophy of Religion. In 1983, he obtained a masters degree in social work from N. Y. U. and then served as a social worker and psychotherapist for adults with psychiatric disabilities. For nine years he served as director of The Guidance Center’s Rochelle House day treatment program, and continues to serve the organization as their Associate Executive Director. His wife, Ruthanne introduced him to the Ethical Society twenty-six years ago, and their sons, Gary and Jeff, are graduates of the Sunday School.As part of his training for Ethical Culture Leadership, Bart attended the Humanist Institute in New York City, from which he graduated in 1997. During the last two years of his training he worked as a leader-intern at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in Manhattan.Bart is a member of the AEU Leadership Committee and has been a faculty member of the AEU Lay Leadership Summer School since 2007.
Ethics-based Sunday school for children is offered simultaneously.
