Cafe Natasha - Persian Food (First Dinner)

I have reserved room for 20, so please be assured that this one will happen.

If you are on the waiting list for this visit, you might consider coming to the second dinner scheduled for Cafe Natasha on April 10.  :-)

If you have never tried Persian food, you are in for a huge treat! Some of the dishes are truly crave-worthy! The menu has always had some vegetarian dishes, but has recently added more. Here's the website that includes the menu: http://www.cafenatasha.com/

Cafe Natasha is located on South Grand in the city and is well worth the trip. I hope to see many of you there. :-)

I definitely want to come back - I highly recommend trying the tongue and lamb biryani (both were AMAZING!). I want to try more of the vegetarian dishes (we tried the Kookoo and the Vegan curry). Just wish I was able to try the baklava (next time :))

Li Way, so sorry about the delay in posting the pic; but worse news...I left the camera phone I usually use and never taken a pic using the one I had. Well, I didn't get a pic at all. I thought a picture snapped. I needed you there to post it on the spot! But must say, it was exceptionally good. I enjoyed every bite.

Does anyone know how parking is? Do they have a lot or is it street? Thanks!

    March 15

    • Rob

Street parking. If you don't mind walking a block or so then there is a parking lot behind Bread Company and Kinkos.

Damn, can't edit after post: "All the beers were out of this world and..."

Sorry, don't run with my computer; ever! Me and another THOROUGHLY ENJOYED Tripel! From the beers to the drinks to the food to the ENTIRE SETTING of the atmosphere; 100% Awesome! Words can't describe the complete experience and it is not because anther entity fondled my "pants" while I encapsulated the experience. All the beers were out of this word and the drinks were a show in itself; Smoke Wagon, got to get. A mixed drink here is where to go. They are very meticulous and every glass shines; hanging. Classy place! The Escargots à la Moelle were a complete delight!

This is not in regards to Cafe Natasha; but getting people together for a scouting of Tripel...Maybe just beer; but an appetizer always good too!

When are you planning to go? Depending on when you're going, I'm in. :)

Whoops, made other plans earlier today since I was on the wait list.

Darn! One of these days, we'll actually get to meet you. :-) Have a great weekend!

    Ok, already looked at the menu and I want to split dinners with someone that will accept my order;
Savory Tongue of Beef! Not sure if I could eat a full order of Tongue. Any takers???

Tongue is some great stuff when cooked right so it's nice and tender. When I can find an authentic Mexican restaurant I always go for tongue tortas.

Will do so and post it as presented! I don't expect it to taste funny; on the contrary, only want to taste more than one dish. I love Persian food and have had several times previously; just never tongue...Most of the MeetUps I have been to, others have dishes that I just want to dig into and Juanita has offered many times before. TY.

So sorry, I'm not going to be able to make. I really wanted to go to this one!

The restaurant is unfortunately too small to allow more than 20. I'm scheduling a second helping of Cafe Natasha so everyone will be able to go there with the group. :)

Have lived here all my life but never been to Cafe Natasha. While in Europe, tried the Persian there and loved it. I think we should all dress as Trojans and see if they let us in the door...lol

    • Lynn D

Ok, Mark, that sounds like fun...but I think I'll be opting out of the Trojan or Persian dress...my toga and my burka are at the cleaners! ;-)

We've had all sorts of things in my group. I've scheduled wrong, we've had weather cancellations, etc. So don't feel badly Lynn. The part that alarms me is this "Valentine's WEEKEND". Not satisfied with an "Day" in February, do American Women now want an entire weekend? OMG please don't tell my wife of this new development. :-) :-)

    (just teasing of course)

And I'm apparently living (alone) under a rock because I forgot all about Valentine's Day being this weekend!

It happens to the best of us, Lynn! I can't tell you how many times I've goofed when scheduling meetups for my other groups!
