Cross-platform development with .Net

update: the new url for the group is:

Cross platform development and Open Source was the big news at this years /BUILD event.  I'd like to re-boot what was the Windows Developers group around these concepts engage with The .Net Foundation and get started using Xamarin to build C# apps on iOS and Android.  This is a bit of a kick-off meeting but I'm thinking about having a study group around this book:

    Looks pretty promising. I like the idea of being able to write cross platform apps in one language. I wonder what the performance differences will be, or if device access is homogenous. Waiting on Amazon for now...
