Facebook and through my husband as well
No, I had believed most of my life. My path away from god has been an eye opener. I didn't realize I was coming out of some closet. The hate I've received is mind-blowing and the weird comments and judgments from Christians has been creepy. I think I feel relieved and celebrate life more now. And... YAY, I don't have to spend an eternity bowing at the feet of an egotistical temper-tantrum throwing, all seeing (ya-right), life betting, women hating jerk. Yes... I think I like being godless.
I am a recovering Christian, a psychology student at Lane, a promoter of No Shame Eugene (5 min. theatre) and a fairly new atheist after reading a book called "The end of Faith." I am fortunate that my husband is an atheist as well.
My hubby and I really enjoy this group! Lovely people, fun topics, venturing into forbidden conversations like "This is what I think about politics". So far no one has tucked tail and unfriended anyone! It's awesome to have a two way conversation (or 8 way) that is reasonable and not filled with "My god is better than your god, or y'all gonna burn in hell for sin lovin." So refreshing!
