Lunch At Morning Glory

NEW LOCATION: Morning Glory Cafe

Eugene Veggies:  Sadly, the Garbanzo Grill has changed their schedule and will be closed for our meetup.  But that doesn't have to stop us from having a wonderful lunch.  I've eaten at Morning Glory several times and simply adore the food.

According to the Morning Glory website, they are, "Eugene’s oldest continually vegetarian & vegan restaurant. We create all of our dishes from scratch using only pure & whole ingredients & use organic products whenever possible.  We support our bountiful foodshed by featuring local & regional products." For More Info:

Note:  Morning Glory does serve dairy and eggs.  While Eugene Veggies has great respect for all our members and whatever diet you choose, we ask that when attending a Eugene Veggie event, you pick choices free of dairy and eggs.   Morning Glory has *plenty* to pick from. If this idea is new to you, it will be a fun challenge.  Can you find a dish that you love that is strictly plant based?  Find out!

Note 2: Because Morning Glory is such a small place, attendance is limited to 10 people.  Meetup will keep a waiting list, though.  So, even if the event is full, please sign up if you are interested.  Sometimes people have to cancel at the last minute.

rob: Can't wait to meet you. Everyone is welcome regardless of how they eat at home. It is just a matter of leaving off the meat, dairy and eggs when you eat with us. After calling Morning Glory, I was able to increase the attendance limit to 10 people, so there is a reasonable chance you will move from the wait list into the 'yes'es. If we don't meet at this event, don't worry, you can come to the next one. We usually have about 2 events a month. Hope to meet you soon. - JJ

I joined this group Eugene Veggies because I wanted to learn more about healthier eating. I've been pleased with what I have learned from others in this group and have greatly enjoyed the meet ups I have been able to attend so far. I respect your desire to have people only eat VEGAN or only bring VEGAN foods to any event when we are sharing with others but I personally don't think when we are at a public restaurant with the group that we are being disrespectful of the strict VEGANS in the group if some of us prefer to have dairy and or eggs in our diet. Just sayin...

(I hate the way meetup work on these comments. Sorry for the separate e-mail. Instead of a separate paragraph, it enters the comment when I press enter key.) .... To answer your second question, there is nothing to stop you from showing up, but I would prefer that only the 'yes'es attend. That's because the seating flexibility is limited at Morning Glory and I don't want one or two people having to sit at a table by themselves. It's not fair. Also, I don't want to over-run the place with just our little group. Having said that, I will contact Morning Glory and talk about options. If it looks like a larger group will work, I'll expand the allowable number and Meetup will automatically bump you from "waiting" to "yes". Fair enough?

    Sorry, gang!
We had a crazy bad summer and are on a much needed vacation. We will re-open the last weekend in August and stick with the hours we kept last winter, Friday-Monday & Wednesday, noon -3pm, closed Tuesdays and Thursdays and we'd love to do this again, we'll throw in some drinks or something to make up for the late notice.
We love you guys! thanks so much!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
