There is no better time to be a Eugene Veggie member than today. Today, our kindly Discrawl ambassador offered Eugene Veggies free tickets to their upcoming vegan Dishcrawl. Yes, you read that right, free tickets - until attendance limit (as shown on the Dishcrawl site) is met.
For those people who are new to Eugene Veggies (or who forgot): Dishcrawl is a separate company that happens to do events in Eugene and is now trying out a vegan Dishcrawl. Here's how it works: everyone meets at a particular location (see above) and then after eating one course, walks to another restaurant for another course. And so on, "crawling" around to various local eateries and meeting a restaurant owner or chef or two. If you are new to plant-based eating, this is a fabulous opportunity to see how you can stay true to your diet and still enjoy a night (or three) on the town.
While Dishcrawl is not associated with Eugene Veggies, I think it is awesome that they are doing a vegan event. And since they are offering the Eugene Veggie members a free ticket, I think it is appropriate to set this up as a Eugene Veggie meetup event for those who are interested.
So, if you are interested:
1) RSVP 'yes' to this event.
2) Be sure to sign up on the Dishcrawl site itself, or it doesn't count. To sign up with Dishcrawl, go to:
3) Use the following code to get the free ticket: eugeneveggies (I know, it's so hard to remember)
If you have questions about the event, please direct them to our Dishcrawl embassador:

Personal note from your organizer:
........On one hand, I love that Dishcrawl is doing a vegan event. I was so excited about it, I started to sign up weeks ago and had been happy to pay full price. But then I read the fine print. If you sign up, you agree to let Dishcrawl use your name and/or picture on their marketing materials, including social media such as Facebook. Dishcrawl provides no ability to opt out. I find such a requirement to be unacceptable. So, even though these tickets are free and even though I so want to support this idea, I will not personally be attending.
That said, if you attend, you will be supporting not only our local restaurants, but also letting a business know about the local interest in plant-based eating AND you will essentially have been paid for your use of your name and picture (assuming a free meal and a fun night covers it for you). So, there is no shame in going for those people who are interested. I just ask that if you sign up, PLEASE attend. It is important that Eugene Veggies be seen as a responsible group if we want to get other wonderful offers like this in the future.
