Cinema: "The Lady in Number Six" - Holocaust Remembrance Day - Free Event

Let's go see the movie "The Lady in Number Six" on the occasion of the International Day of Commemoration to honour the victims of the Holocaust.

The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre invites you to the film premiere of The Lady in Number 6 (subtitled in French). The screening will be followed by a discussion with the Director, Malcom Clarke, three Holocaust Survivors and Professor Henry Greenspan.

The Lady in Number 6 is one of the most inspirational and uplifting stories of the year.  As the world's oldest pianist and Holocaust survivor, 109 year-old Alice Herz Sommer shares her views on how to live a long and happy life. She discusses music, laughter and how to remain optimistic come what may. The film features beautiful photographs and rare film footage that truly brings Alice's extraordinary story to life.

Interesting fact: January 27 is also the official Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Nationalsocialism in both Germany and Poland.

Admission is free.

NB: As always, we can go for a coffee (tea, beer etc.) to chat some more about the presentation.

Great movie. An outstanding lady that gives us important life lessons. Real survivors were giving a speach. It was possible to ask them questions. And each member of the audience have received a free book about a survivor..

Just wondering if you guys have a meeting spot just before the film or do I simply walk in and find a seat for myself.

Hi, maybe we could wait next to the entrance door of the movie room like 15 minutes before. I don't know if Andrew will come. He's probably still at the hospital.

The surgery was delayed - I left the hospital at 7.30 pm.
