Medieval Sword in Two Hands: mixed novice, intermediate and SPARRING!

Sparring now weekly!

We have six combatants fully ready to spar, and a Second Cohort starting. Come join in the fun!

Several of our Honolulu zugadore (players) will have belt-tested and are sparring regularly!

NEW SCHEDULE!

We're splitting the daily schedule out by level, to that everyone gets enough time to train and play!

Our newer zugadore are working through the foundational material as well, so its a great time to jump in and start. We have some sparring gear within the group, and we have a large stack of poly longswords, so folks are starting to spar. Come join the fun!

12 noon - 12:30 Opening drills (all students combined into one class). This week we will look at a new application for the acresso footwork, striking fendente and then making an acresso with the *back* foot, enabling the point to be set, then driving forward. It's a brand new thing!

12:30 - 1:15pm - Beginner course (2nd Cohort) with Instructor Brian R. Price. The focus will be on a review of the poste, the staff and driving in exercises, and Play #1. First Cohort will work independently from 12:30 - 1:15pm.

1:30 - 2:15pm: Beginner drills led by a First Cohort student. Brian will work with the remaining First Cohort students on intermediate material, this week to be the tre tempi and the tre volte (which we will also cover on Tuesday evening)

2:15 - 3pm: Integration sparring and challenge bouts

This was my first meetup and it was full of good people, good fun and good training. On the location: Good space, shady trees and close to the main bus lines. I can't wait to come back and learn more!
