Announcing a new Meetup for Evening Walkers!

What: Cold Spring Park and Crystal Lake in Newton

When: Thursday, September 16,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Newton Highlands T Station
1152 Walnut Street
Newton, MA 02461

Cold Spring Park and Crystal Lake are two natural treasures that many people in the Metro West/Boston area do not know about. This evening will be your chance to explore them! We begin by meeting at the Newton Highlands T station at 5:30 and will start walking by 5:40 (there is also parking). Our first destination is Cold Spring Park, which is a special combination of neighborhood park and nature preserve. There are beautiful trails that go through the woods and also include boardwalks that lead us through wetlands. The walk to and through Cold Spring Park will be about 45 minutes to an hour, plenty of time before dark (sunset is 6:52). After we leave Cold Spring Park the rest of the walk is light. The neighborhood around Crystal Lake is beautiful and the lake is amazing. We will walk around the lake and explore the neighborhood. This portion of walk has street lights and will be another 45 minutes to an hour. The setting sun from the lake and twilight will help make this a special late summer walk.
