Hi,

We are looking for quiet, beautiful lakes and ponds anywhere in New England for day trips or longer overnight trips. Ideally, the lake would be big enough for a long swim or kayak paddle but be small enough not to have any sort of motor boats. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Adam

If you like a beautiful area, try Pawtuckaway State Park NH (not too far from the border), they have a lake that's about 600-700 acres or so, don't know about the motorboats thing though and they have kayak rentals at the lake if someone does not have one. The park has hiking and biking, they are a camping park as well.

There is also Spot Pond in Stoneham- about 300 acre pond for kayaking, they have rentals there as well, I don't think they can have motorboats there, I have kayaked there twice.

A great place to kayak is Walden Pond located at 915 Walden Street, Lincoln/Concord, MA. It does not allow motor boats, it is a nice place to swim. There is also a beach there and a walking trail around the pond.
