We'll hear about the do's and don'ts of PR, tips on how to get pre- and post-event media coverage, and learn their secret weapons in ramping up event publicity.

• BETH SCHNITZER - Spritz Marketing

Beth is Co-Founder and President of Spritz Marketing, an integrated marketing company that specializes in brand strategy, digital marketing  and PR. With a successful 20+ year career in the sports, hospitality, and entertainment sector, Beth has worked with such clients and properties as NFL Properties, 1994 FIFA World Cup Soccer Organizing Committee, The Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games- SportsMark, The SF 49ers Foundation, National Hockey League, and more. Prior to Spritz, she was VP of Strategic Alliances for PIER 39 for 12 years working with high profile clients like Coca Cola , Verizon, Visa, and Discover Card. Beth lends her expertise to several Bay Area non-profits such as the SF/Bay Area chapter of WISE (Women In Sports and Events), where she is Founding Member and President, the SF Chapter of the National Sports Marketing Network, the Richmond Ermet Aids Foundation, Dress for Success, American Red Cross, and SPCA Bark, just to name a few.

• CARISSA REMITZ - Wagstaff Worldwide

Carissa is Vice-President at Wagstaff Worlwide, a public relations and marketing firm specializing in the hospitality industry, co-heading the San Francisco office. She joined the team in 2006, following graduation from the California Culinary Academy and an internship with the San Francisco Chronicle's Food and Wine section. She has worked with a diverse roster of clients—from celebrated, Michelin-starred restaurants to wineries.  Wagstaff Worldwide clients include James Beard Foundation Taste America, CLIFT Hotel, St. Regis Aspen, Acquerello and Chaya.

• KIMBERLY KEYES - Charles Zukow Associates

As Public Relations Account Executive for Charles Zukow Associates, a boutique PR and marketing firm serving the entertainment, lifestyle, hospitality, and retail industries, Kimberly works with accounts like Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Macy’s, PianoFight Productions, Na Lei Hulu, and the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square presented by Alaska Airlines. Prior to joining CZA in 2012, Kimberly’s track record boasted a number of statewide campaigns for the California Office of Traffic Safety—the most notable of which were the Distracted Driving and Anti-Drunk Driving campaigns.  Kimberly previously sat on the Board of the Sacramento Public Relations Association and has written for SacPress. She is currently a member of the National Communication Association and a community contributor to Buzzfeed. CZA clients include Cirque du Soleil, Safeway Holiday Ice Rink Union Square and Beach Blanket Babylon.

• CONNIE ZHENG - North of 9 Communications

Connie is an associate at North of Nine, a boutique tech PR agency  that spun out of global PR firm Burson-Marsteller, managing clients like Intel and TechShop. Before joining BM, she was at global tech PR agency Text 100 and was a freelance reporter covering SF local events. Connie volunteers for The AsianWeek Foundation, heading PR efforts for the Filipino Pistahan Festival. Her works have been published in PR trades and she has spoken at industry events such as SXSW and PR Summit in 2012 & 2013, and will be speaking again at SXSW 2014 about crowdfunding/ Kickstarter. In her teenage years, she was briefly a dental assistant. Her knack for spotting and creating proactive media opps have garnered hits for clients in top tier media like USA Today, CNBC and Forbes, among others.
