Everything 80's Meetup
We're a group of fun-loving people who get-together often to have a good time...whether it's dancing to a local 80's cover band, going to concerts or attending 80's themed Home Parties. Many of our members grew up in the 80's, many just dig the nostalgia of an Awesome Decade... we're a very diverse group -- different ages, lifestyles, activities that will appeal to everyone. You don't have to be single either -- couples are welcome!

Is this a good way to meet social people?
Absolutely! This is not a singles group but many of our members are. And some are married/couples as well. Most people in our group are just looking to get out, have fun and meet people!


Can I recommend an activity, theme or venue?
Yes! I love to get suggestions. The key to having an active fun group is keeping a consistent calendar full of diverse activities. Please feel free to contact me or any other organizers with your ideas!


How many people usually come to these events?
We get anywhere from 6 to 40 people. It just depends on the day of the week and the location.


Is it mostly regulars? Will I be "the new guy" or one of many newcomers?
We're a very new group with a couple hundred members -- some who've never been to a meetup event before. I can personally guarantee that this group is friendly and always open to meeting new people. My recommendation is to introduce yourself to as many people as you can and just know that no matter what the activity is you're going to have a great time!

How long does it take when you have that big of a group?
Best to assume events take about 2-3 hours comfortably.


How do the organizers pick locations?
First of all, we try to vary the locations as much as we can (in terms of atmosphere, cost, location, etc.). After that, it's a variety of factors: member suggestions, refferals, personal experience, etc.


How much do these events cost?
There is a minimum $3 fee to attend some of the in-home parties. This covers the cost that we pay to be a part of the Meetup organization. Additionally, in home parties usually just require a donation of a beverage and/or appetizer. For other non-private events, the cost vary depending on the activity. We will try to post an approximate cost for you for each event.

Can I bring someone to an event who is not a member of the group?
Absolutely! Some of our most active members started out here as guests of other members. The RSVP system on Meetup is setup to track how many people attend each event so please be sure to let us know when you're planning to bring guests. Occaissionally an event will have a set limit to the number of attendees allowed, particularly in-home parties. Unfortunately guests will only be allowed on a personal request basis for these events. Please contact one of the organizers with your request in this case.


I feel weird coming to an event where I don't know anyone. Am I going to feel like an "outsider"?
No way! It has been my experience that no one leaves a Meetup without making a few friends. But don't take my word for it. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are a few pictures of current members attending their FIRST Meetups.....
