The Dallas Examined Life Philosophy Group Monthly Meetup

I like to think that we're a rather tolerant group. Our membership is incredibly diverse across various social, cultural, and ideological spectra. In order to even have a proper philosophical discussion there must be both disagreement as well as a willingness to engage with people despite these differences of opinion. As a central component of this group, we will explore the meaning and implications of tolerance.

• What is tolerance? What do we mean when we use this term?

• Is tolerance always a good thing?

• Can tolerance have meaningful limits, or is it an "all or nothing" affair?

• What of the Paradox of Tolerance, where the tolerant are intolerant of intolerance?

Location and Price:

This meetup will be just outside the cafe inside Half-Price Books (near the fish tank). There is also a suggested (but by no means mandatory) $2 donation to help cover the cost of maintaining this meetup group.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
