I am somewhat a student of philosophy and definitely a student of life. I tend to be highly skeptical of any "ism", as they tend to foster arrogance and close-mindedness. There is no "one true way" of anything, and the concept itself is dangerous.
Victor Frankl, Annie Dillard and Robert Pirsig are some of my favorite authors whose works deal heavily with various philosophical concepts, if that counts. They seem to have a much richer understanding of life than most of the better-known types.
