Book and coffee club

Looking for a group interesting in meeting monthly or bimonthly to read English language books and discuss them. Nothing too academic just interesting discussion on books that interest the group. Any interest? Or suggestions if there is an existing group already?

Hey, it was nice to meet you all! Good luck with everything and enjoy the book discussions.
You can do Inferno again probably - and for anyone who will try Ayn Rand, I recommend doing some side reading about the author to understand the context the book was written in and why it figures in American political dialogue recently.
    Cheers!

It was a nice group. We didn't get around to talking about the book much but the next meeting will be Tuesday, October 15 at 20:00. Again at the Arcohotel on the Reeperbahn. The book for the next meeting will be Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Will make a new meeting tomorrow.

I don't mind either location either Starbucks on Gansemarkt or the Arcotel on the Reeperbahn, although Reeperbahn is closer for me to get to. Can we have some feedback as to what people would prefer? Like I said before as this is our first meeting I wouldn't worry about whether having read the book or not. We can talk about how often we can or would like to meet, what we like to read, etc.

How about Starbucks on the Gansemarkt square? The upstairs area there is nice...lots or comfy chairs and it's never massively busy. I'm not sure what it's about but there's a book being heavily advertised called "Gone Girl". Might be a good one to start with: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gone-Girl-Gillian-Flynn/dp/0297859382

Would the cafe in Arcotel Onyx on Reeperbahn be a reasonable place?

The 18th works for me, even if we haven't read the book yet it might be at least a good way to get started. Any suggestions for a place to meet? I'm thinking for a first meeting a neutral place might be better.

I apologize for just adding a suggested date without discussing with anyone. Hope this might work out but feel free to change.

Hi all, nice to see that others are interested! Sorry for the late reply, I have been in the US since June 27 and will return July 29. Nationality doesn't matter just a love of books. :). I live in HH-Othmarschen and would be happy to host the first round. I would suggest meeting in August. Any date suggestions or book recommendations?

Hi. I'd be really interested in joining the book club. I'm English but a wannabe American! :)

I'd be interested, too! I miss my two US-based bookclubs, I still read what they are reading but I can't join the discussions.
