Expat Ice Skating n°4 : Meltdown

Ice skating n*4: Meltdown

It's been 4 weeks since the last ice skating meetup, and now that less people are sick, we are all itching to get back on the ice !!!

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO ICE-SKATE and you don't mind holding a beginner's hand, please leave a message on this board, that way we can pair you with someone who needs your help for the first half hour, after that you are free to do your own thing. Start your message with I CAN HELP.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO ICE-SKATE and you need to hold on to someone's hand for your first steps, please leave a message on this board, that way we can pair you with someone who will help you out to get you on your feet, after which you will be able to stand on your own. Start your message with I NEED HELP

Meeting Time :

15:00 (it’s the opening time)

be sure to come on time because the queue can become very long and you will have to wait a long time if you don't come in with the group.

Meeting point :

At the front of the queue, the ice rink entrance is at the back of the stadium, I'll have a Romanian flag.

when you see the sign come and join us.

When you arrive, I’ll give you a name badge so we all know your name and we can all spot each other on the ice :) and pair people who want to help teach ice skating to people who don't know how to ice skate.

Price

Entry 4 Euros + 3 Euros Skate hire (for other equipment & discounts see here http://www.bercy.fr/patinoire/tarifs) We will send our expert negociator Youness to obtain a special group price of 6 euros per person.

Once we’ve had a couple of hours skating (and falling) we’ll meet back outside at the entrance at 17:00-17:10 and go for a drink :) at the Frog in nearby Cour St-Emilion.

See you then

Martin

Do they have "extra large" (US size 13/euro 46) skate sizes? Or is this establishment not giant-friendly (like much of the rest of Paris :))?

I am size 13 and they always have a nice pair for me ! Bear in mind there are professional ice hockey players who come to this rink so they even have size 14 on hand !

Do professional ice hockey players typically rent skates? (sorry for the American sarcasm, couldn't help it - thanks for the info, Martin!)
