Details of the class
This is just an announcement - upfront payment is required to attend, limited capacity, 10 expats and 10 Native French Speakers.
It's a new year and we have a new host, teacher (AMINE) and weekly event bringing Expatriates and Parisians together for 2 hours of one-to-one interaction and learning unlike any event before.
Every Friday evening at 18:30, 10 Expatriates and 10 French Speakers with a mutual interest; improving their conversational language skills in a casual and fun environment will meet to help each other improve in a structured environment.
Expatriates and Parisians are paired with each other for the evening to participate in one-to-one conversational scenarios.
With a mixture of fun and everyday day scenarios and 1to1 role playing each meeting will be different and you’ll get to know your language partner over the course of 2 hours thought the following structure :
18:20 – Registered attendee arrival (doors close at 18:30) – name badge allocation
18:30 – Teacher /host introduction- explanation of evening, concept and structure
18:40 – Attendee pairing and seating – attendees will be paired with one another according to hobbies , interests, language level etc – 1 Expatriate with 1 Parisian (or 1 native French speaker with 1 Expatriate)
18:45 – ROUND 1 – two way introductions – once you’ve been paired and sat at your table, you have 5 minutes to become acquainted and introduce yourselves in any language you choose.
18:50 – ROUND 2 (FRENCH) – your teacher Amine will introduce you to your first scenario (shopping but forgot your shopping list? Booking a holiday which is pet friendly ? asking the bank for a loan? etc….of course you’ll be given some twists and turns in the scenario as time goes on....)
- The expatriate will play the role of one character and the Parisan another. Round 2 is conducted in French and cues will be provided to assist with your dialogue throughout the scenario. Each pair are in their own scenario so everyone is in the same boat.
- - When the time finishes, your partners (the French speaker) will have 5 minutes to explain to you the areas you made mistakes or spoke very well to help you understand and improve.
- -A general summary is then given by the teacher/host from observing all the groups
19:15 – ROUND 3 (ENGLISH) – It’s time to swap languages and play a new scenario with your partner.
19:40 – ROUND 4 – having spent the most part of the evening together you should now know one another much better than when you walked in, ROUND 4 is the final part of the evening… but we are going to save these details until the evening itself......
- soft drinks will be available for attendees throughout the evening (free of course).
- The evening is limited to 20 attendees (10 Native French Speakers and 10 Expatriates)
- Upfront payment is required for this event.
This event has been promoted on several networks and communities (FB,MU,OVS etc) an rsvp is not considered as a paid attendee. To book your place you can pay your 10euros (5 eur per hour) on www.language.epsama.com or send a paypal payment directly to [masked] -
