Hey...just a reminder. The competitors are Toastmaster club members and have already been selected. We are just looking for people would would like to be in the audience, and to socialize afterwards.

The line-up for tomorrow's contest looks great. We have 5 main competitors, a guest speaker from outside the club and 4 short, 2-3 minute speeches. Can't wait.

Hi there, so just so that I make sure I get this, this entertaining speech contest is, in a way, not meant to be just serious (about politics or a cause like a TED conference speech), but more like a good after dinner speech without being purely comedy? This isn't an open mic comedy night, either, right?

We have a different contest in the fall that focuses on pure comedy and humor, with impromptu talks on funny topics and prepared comedic talks. But, some of the speeches tomorrow night can certainly be humorous.

Okay, thanks, I think that helps. So, this is one of those two opportunities per year for this local chapter to nominate someone to progress to the next level in Sweden.

If you're coming to the speech contest bring pens. It is always more fun when the audience fills out ballots and votes on contestants. We will have a few pens to share, but, it's best to bring your own, in case we have a large crowd.

    Hi Laura,
Are spectators allowed, or is a speach required by rules? :)
    Thanks,
    Adrian

No, you don't have to participate, you can come just as a spectator.
