Every month the Oslo Cinematek plays a surprise film where you don't find out the identity of the film until it starts to play. They are always films that haven't been released in Norway yet. For example, they showed The Matrix, Fight Club, American Beauty, TinkerTailorSoldierSpy, This Must Be The Place, O Brother Where Art Though?, Requiem for a Dream, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Brokeback Mountain, Control, You live, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Wrestler, The Road, Drive, The Moonrise Kingdom.
In July 2012, they showed The Moonrise Kingdom: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/moonrise_kingdom/
In Aug 2012, they showed Take This Waltz: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/take_this_waltz/
In Early Sep 2012, they showed Som du ser meg:
In late Sep 2012, they showed Searching for Sugar Man:
The film starts at 21, but I think it'd be good to meet at 2015 to catch up and grab a coffee/drink.
We will start queuing up on level 2 at around 2045 to get good seats. If you come later than 2045, you might not be able to find good seats or sit with the Expat group.
You can buy tickets directly at the Cinematek (they used to start selling them in person on Friday). You can also now buy tickets directly from their website, by clicking on the little shopping cart next to (Troll i Eske: http://www.nfi.no/Troll+i+eske.89460.cms) I've already grabbed mine from their website, so they're selling them already :)
It costs 50 NOK for members and 80 NOK for non-members.
They are always sell out, so I would recommend grabbing a ticket before Sunday either on the web or in person. They don't do allocated seating so we don't have to buy all our tickets together :)
