Expats Paris“ The people who joined the meetup were friendly, great sports and we had a lot of fun together. Everyone made everyone else feel welcome and we had a great time together. There was an interesting mix of at least 8 nationalities out of the 13 people present. I came away with a lot of new friends and I will definitely be joining future gatherings. ”

“ To meet people to go out with and discover Paris with. When I arrived (in 1992) there was nothing of this sort and it was hard to meet people because young French graduates tend to stay with their friends from student days and don't need anyone else. Also, a lot of young people are paired off and co-habiting by a young age and thus out a lot less. And property prices mean that Parisians have actually become inhabitants of Ile de France and don't go out so often in Paris. This all means that it's very easy to start a job in Paris and have a conversation with no-one but your colleagues. Also, there are expats like myself who have been here years and can give advice on things or help with language problems. ”
