Family Nature Hunt

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Fun 4 First Coast Kids on their free summer long Family Nature Hunt series. While most of the hikes will be self guided, this one allows you to follow along with a naturalist/biologist to learn about the beautiful Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens (http://www.jacksonvillearboretum.org). This property is a 120-acre urban woodland full of trails for you to explore and enjoy. Our expert will lead us on a family friendly hike while sharing plenty of educational information perfect for children of all ages. After the guided hike, you will have the opportunity to join us as we explore a different trail following the clues provided by Fun 4 First Coast Kids. Solve the question, submit your answer online at http://www.fun4firstcoastkids.com and you’ll receive a coupon for a cool prize!

The hike will begin at the information kiosk at the far end of the parking lot. This is also the start of the Lake Loop Trail. A handicapped accessible unisex restroom and water fountain are located at the parking area.

To maximize your enjoyment, we suggest the following:
• Appropriate hiking shoes
• Water
• Trail snacks
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Insect repellent
• Camera

See you outside!

I'm so excited that we have so many joining us tomorrow! Instead of meeting in the parking lot, it's probably better to gather at the picnic area. We'll have some signs directing you there, so look out for ones that say Fun 4 First Coast Kids/Expedition First Coast. Looking forward to a fun afternoon with all of you!
