Join us for our second snowshoe adventure of the year and have loads of fun outdoors! We will enjoy Fort Whyte Alive in the winter and the wonders it beholds.
Bring in the new year at Fort Whyte Alive as we snowshoe, toboggan, admire the resident deer, squirrels and winter birds, marvel at the burrowing owls and other indoor exhibits, and enjoy a warm drink or treat back inside.
Sandy is a volunteer at Fort Whyte and although this is not going to be a fully interpreted snowshoe hike, she will be guiding the group on a hike (to be decided according to the weather, the group, and the trail conditions). She would love to answer any questions you have on the centre, the wildlife, or the exhibits. Before we get our snowshoes on we will be stopping by the indoor exhibit, Prairie Partners, where there are burrowing owls and prairie dogs. After we snowshoe, we can have a play on the biggest toboggan slide in Winnipeg.
At the end of the hike, we have the option of purchasing soup, coffee, hot chocolate, or a snack at the Buffalo Stone Cafe. As we warm up we will chat about our fun day and a great start to the new year!
