Trail Map

We will be staying at Dropmore Villas

Most of the accommodation in our cabin at Dropmore is Queen beds, so you will be sleeping in a bed with another member.

Snow bikes are really very easy to ride, four points on the ground so balance is no problem. A front and back ski (in place of wheels) and very short skis on your feet (snow blades). This gives you full stability!

The instructors will give us a short lesson to show us how to turn and stop, both are very easy and we will be having a ton of fun in no time.  The instructors will also teach us how to access the chair lifts with our snowbike. Snowbikes are allowed on all lifts and runs at Asessippi.

We're also planning to do some downhill snow tubing... "Ride Up - Slide Down - No Effort Required!"  This season the tubing park will be expanded to 6 lanes!  The main lift will be the new 650 ft snow carpet with a secondary tow lift available for busy days.  More runs, more lifts, MORE FUN!

The Plan:

(A couple of weeks before the trip - mandatory pre-trip planning meeting to be arranged as per everyone's schedules) This meeting will include the organising of carpools, food, meal preparation and queries.

Friday March 21st

The drive from Winnipeg takes just less than 4 hours, we will decide on carpooling and times to leave at our pre-trip planning meetup.

Arrive at Dropmore Villas for check-in at 4pm (if you want to go to Assissippi earlier on Friday that may be an option too)

Enjoy a shared supper supplied and prepared by two members (all meals to be arranged at the pre-trip planning meeting), then time to unwind together in the hot tubs or the cabin.

Saturday March 22nd:

Breakfast supplied and prepared by two members. Then we will spend the day skiiing/snowboarding or snow biking on the slopes. Lunch prepared by two members and taken to slopes, to share at lunchtime.

6pm Tubing on the newly expanded tubing hills, tubing hill closes at 8pm.

Late supper in the cabin, prepared and supplied by two members earlier in the day. Then board games/hot tub for a relaxing evening together.

Sunday March 23rd:

Shared breakfast supplied by two members, clean up the cabin, we will play the day by ear (ski/tube/snowboard/weather conditions) but we will be sure to be home by 6pm. Two members will prepare individual packed lunches and share them out to the group.

Please bring:

• Outdoor skiing clothes - ski jacket, snow pants, mitts, toque, etc

• Sunglasses

• Your share of the groceries (we will discuss at the pre-trip planning meetup)

• Money for your chosen activities. See rental rates and lift tickets on this page:

• Ski equipment if you have it - if not you can rent

• A weekend bag packed with clothes and toiletries for the weekend

• Your swimsuit and towel for the hot tub

• BYOB (optional)

• A camera (optional)

When you RSVP for this meetup, you need to pay $124.00 by PayPal, which includes the meetup fee, accommodation fee, and carpool fee.

Really enjoyed the weekend. It was great to get out on the slopes and ski. Conditions were excellent, but a little cold. Great group of women to enjoy the weekend with.

  • Helene

So what time would you be leaving? the title says 5pm but check in says 4pm?

    January 27, 2014

    • Sandy H.

As with all our weekend trips, we will leave when we can. At the mandatory ore-trip planning meeting we discuss who can leave when and from where - and then we plan the carpools. Some of us can leave the city early in the day and some can't leave until 5pm so there are many options - but we will be back by 6 pm Sunday x
