Art Saturday: Exhibit, Beer, and Dance Performance in Asakusa
Our first meetup of 2013 will be an artsy afternoon in Asakusa followed by a dance performance. I have reserved six tickets for the dance performance so I will limit this event to six people.
The exhibit is at the Asahi Art Space in the famous Asahi Super Dry Hall (that's right, the lovely, shiny building with the "golden turd"!)
We will meet at 3pm, go to the exhibit, have an early beer dinner, then go to the dance performance. If it's not too late, we can go somewhere for drinks afterwords.
"Atsushi Fukunaga Exhibition: The Hurly-burly Chorus — Urban Symphony in Sumida and Asakusa" runs Jan. 12 through Feb. 3 at Asahi Art Square in Tokyo. Tickets cost ¥500.
The dance performance:
Dance in the Dark 2013
Choreographed by Atsushi Fukunaga and Ayaka Azechi, this dance performance was first shown in Berlin in 2011. On a stage that is completely dark, the dancers use their bodies and various materials to create sounds, forcing the audience to use their imagination and senses to feel and hear the dancers.
February 2 & 3 from 8pm
Reserved tickets: 1500yen, regular tickets: 1,800yen (500yen discount if you show your ticket stub for the exhibit)
