Requested Prayers

From: John L.

Hi Everyone,

Please consider registering for the upcoming Crystal Bowl meetup on May 6. Jay Schwed is well known and this meetup promises to be very cool - I'm quite excited about it. If you haven't watched the YouTube video yet, please do. It's short, informative and entertaining.
The Song of the Healing Crystal Bowls

Those who attended last night's meetup requested a list of the prayers read at the beginning. They are listed below.

- John V. Love

The following prayers, from different faith traditions, all have one general theme in common - they ask for guidance. Note: I have replaced any references to deities with the term, ?O Divine One.?

1.) Muslim/Sufi:
O Divine One (My God), help me to know you. Help me to want only your love and to be your servant. Take everything from me that separates me from your love and the truth of who I really am. Change me to return to reflect the truth of who you created me to be. I want only to be Your mirror and to see myself in Your heart and in Your soul. Help me, O Divine One (my God), to clean this mirror to reflect only Your love.

2.) Catholic:
O Divine One (O my God), I am sorry for my sins because I have offended you. I know I should love you above all things. Help me to do penance, to do better, and to avoid anything that might lead me to sin. Amen.

3.) Buddhist:
By the power and the truth of this practice,
may all beings have happiness, and the causes of happiness.
May all be free from sorrow, and the causes of sorrow.
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness
which is sorrowless.
And may all live in equanimity,
without too much attachment and too much aversion,
And live believing in the equality of all that lives.

4.) Native American:
All over the world the faces
of living ones are alike.

With tenderness they have
come up out of the ground.

Look upon your children
that they may face the winds
And walk the good road to the Day of Quiet.

O Divine One (Grandfather Great Spirit)
Fill us with the Light.
Give us the strength to understand,
And the eyes to see.

Teach us to walk the soft Earth
as relatives to all that live.

5.) Personal Prayer by John Love:
O Divine One, we ask that You point the way to Your love, grace, and understanding. To gently pull us nearer when we seek You. And to gently push us when we?re stuck in our own resistance. We are here to teach, to witness, and most of all to honor the Divinity within us all. Help us to act as messengers of love and peace to all Your family. We thank you, O Divine One, for answering our prayer, for we know that in asking, it is already given. And so it is.
