Presentation: The Power of Listening: Art, science and future of audio in entertainment, education and our everyday lives.
Your hearing, voice and musical expression connect you to the world – human, natural and technological. This presentation investigates the underlying neuroscience and psychology of man-made and environmental sounds, revealing your different listening modes and finding meaning in these sounds. Then we’ll take an experiential sonic journey of music, film and games, along with the cutting edge scientific theories and technology behind the phenomena. You’ll find out how the sonically tuned brain can help language-related learning disorders, and expand communication and musical creativity, continuing toward a future that holds our potential evolution into conscious listening and mindfulness.

Expert Speaker: David Sonnenschein, BA Neurobiology/Music (UCSD) and MFA Cinema (USC), is the author of "Sound Design: The Expressive Power of Music, Voice and Sound Effects in Cinema." As a filmmaker, musician, sound designer, graphic artist, educator and game developer, he teaches online at SoundDesignForPros.com and brings his artistic and scientific experience to a worldwide audience of professionals, university students and children. His current project, 3DeafMice.com, is a unique music game based on neuroscience principles, sonic treasure hunts and audio puzzles that enhance listening skills, support hearing health, promote creativity and encourage community participation.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
