Let's walk the dogs - Coughton 2

  • Apr 6, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

A glorious mix of open pasture (hopefully not as soggy as in February), woodland, river paths and farm tracks. Lots for dogs to enjoy, and people too!

One short section on a quiet country lane, sheep possible in two or more fields, no cows/horses/etc and no stiles.

This walk is very slightly longer than Coughton 1.

Thanks to Stephanie for leading the walk :-) And once again we were so lucky with the weather.

No worries, I was just reading off instructions and had help from the rest of the group :-)

Lovely walk, still a bit muddy, but good company both of the two- and four-legged kind :-)

    Lovely, relaxing, blissfully uneventful!

Apologies - legs need some some sofa time.

CollieWobblers (and friends): dogs who need more space (yellow ribbon dogs) and others who are learning social skills, or who are elderly or disabled etc walk towards the back of the group. This is a less threatening position for these dogs.

Please try to make sure that your dog goes forward with the group, rather than barging backwards into the CollieWobblers to avoid confrontations/stress. Tess (Anna's rescue collieX) has been making great progress and probably won't be at the rear for much longer, and Corinna's Boxation is also doing really well at the back with Jem.

Reminder about membership dues - members who have already been on one walk and whose dogs want to come on more walks need to sort out their £10 annual membership. Either online via Paypal, or a crumpled tenner into Jem's paw will do nicely. New members: this message isn't for you! Please see the discussion forum for membership details and Code of Conduct before deciding to join.

So sorry but cannot now come on walk due to my physio saying this morning that I should not do any lengthy walking until my back is sorted. So disappointed but realise that its probably the right decision. I will however be joining you as soon as I can and given permission!!! These pesky backs.......

Sue, as both Coughton walks are at the same time I've taken you off the waiting list for the other walk.

Hey Lezli - would you mind if I swopped to the other Coughton walk which is slightly shorter? I have a dodgy knee at the moment and altho I am walking more, I think it may be better with a slowly, slowly approach! (I'm not actually a slow walker...)

    March 31, 2014

    • Lezli

Ouch!! Swap by all means :-)

There will be sheep and lambs in the fields - not sure how many fields, but this is prime lambing time so extra care needed with the dogs.

This is the first walk with other dogs so I really hope that Daisy behaves (otherwise we'll be at the back!!) - just to warn everyone, she's a bit of a barker but friendly on the inside...

Hi Lezli, which one will be more suited to Hartley-bear do you think? Or does it not make any difference?

Hi Corinna - why not keep him near Jem as they did OK together last time? The routes are quite similar so if I were you I'd go with the least excitable bunch of dogs!

Thanks Lezli, yes I think Hartley and Jem make a good walking partners! Looking forward to it.
