Dessert Exchange

This is our first attempt at a dessert exchange. I'm a fan of anything with sugar and I love anything that's chocolate!

I'm using this as a reward, if I hit the gym and stick to a healthy diet I get to spoil myself at the dessert exchange! Yay for New Year resolutions right?

So about the event:

Bring a dessert, it's that simple, I'll bring a couple different things to get the ball rolling and everyone else can bring anything they want. Be creative and if you can't bake, then yes you can stop by Harris Teeter and grab something. It's all good.

About the Venue:

Volcano is one of my favorite places downtown, it's such a relaxed atmosphere and the guys that work in there are just really cool. I go in there and hi-jack their WiFi and drink their hot coco all the time. They've only been around for a few months so most of you probably haven't heard of them before unless you've heard me mention them. But they're a vapor lounge and they focus on selling electronic cigarettes so if anyone is looking to quit smoking, these guys can help offer you a healthy alternative. They don't have any liquor but they do have beer and wine.

Activities:

As far as activities goes this is mostly just a social. The plan is to eat a bunch of baked goods and just relax into the night (aka sugar coma). But seeing as how it's Friday and we're downtown we'll probably venture out after a while, and walk around downtown, maybe do some bar hopping or something depending on the weather .

Oh, I can't wait for this event. Hope to see everyone there!

Sadly - I'll be late. First batch of cupcakes was a no go. Working on the second batch... If we don't get there by 8:30pm and you guys bounce - send me a message. Thanks!

I love this idea! I don't think I will be able to attend tonight, but I am free on alternate weekends (and, generally, lunchtimes too). Hope to make another one!!

would you mind sending that recipe? We're celebrating my dad's birthday this weekend - I'm in charge of baking the cake.

I will make some cupcakes. Not sure of the flavor... I'm craving Mojito (despite the temps being so cold). We'll see what I come up - they will be libation-themed desserts for sure!
