Inspirational talk "Balloons Across Asia: Ghengis, Gaddaffi & Generals" & Social

Asian and African Balloon Adventures.....Catch up on all the expedition and adventure news. Meet like-minded people. Get inspired. Everyone welcome. FRIDAY 15th March

6.30pm Doors open

7.30pm Talk by Allie Dunnington (please note the talk will start at 7.30pm sharp)

Allie will share stories and film clips from ballooning above Mongolia, Libya and Kenya in "Asian and African Balloon Adventures: Ghenggis, Ghaddaffii and the Generals"

Allie has flown hot air balloons in 60+ countries and has been instructing young pilots in India, the UK and Germany. New projects have included wildlife filming by balloon in the Czech Republic, Ireland, India, Mongolia, the Alps, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Venezuela. Allie holds a UK CPL (professional commercial licence) for hot air balloons and airships

Mongolia with its vast plains, deserts and endless meadows seemed an ideal country for a balloon expedition. Ballooning in Mongolia is not always easy though as the teams faced gusty winds in the Gobi desert and tricky landings in the high Altai mountains. But flying over places that nobody has ever seen from the air, such as the ancient Mongolian capital Karakorum, are unforgettable experiences.

Another expedition takes Allie and Phil to the remote corners of Libya where they not only experience the hospitality of the Libyan people but also some highly challenging flights over the Akakus rocks, the ancient city of Ghadames and flights over one of the largest sand deserts on earth.

Finally the teams travels to Kenya to meet up with old friend Alan Root near his house at Lake Naivasha. Flying again with Alan over the Masai Mara recalls many good memories from their epic film ‘Safari by Balloon’ as they drift over lakes, tropical jungle and the 'big five'.
