BE's Big Annual MeetUp...."Ordinary People, Extraordinary Adventures"

Looking for inspiration? As part of our mission to make adventure more accessible EC has invited three leading explorers to share their experiences with a live audience in Bristol on Wednesday 13th February 2013.The speakers will talk about their adventures and how they got started but also share some nuggets of wisdom on how you can also go for it! This will be followed by a chance for the audience to join in the discussion with our panel of experts..... and maybe buy them a beer afterwards at the bar.

Tickets have just gone on sale, in time for Christmas, so if you're looking for a present for yourself or something for the man/woman who has everything book your tickets here http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/309562

Jim McNeill Jim is a polar explorer with over 25 years of experience travelling in the Arctic. His expeditions give him regular opportunities to monitor polar bear populations and carry out an annual scientific program to monitor the effects of climate change. Jim's greatest challenge have been his attempts to reach the Northern Pole of Inaccessibility, one of the few places on earth yet to be reached by mankind. In 2001 he set up the Ice Warrior Project "to be accessible to everyone, to contribute to our knowledge and understanding of the Polar Regions and to show that ordinary people, from all walks of life, with the right attitude and training can achieve extraordinary things" @IceWarriorJim

John Sullivan Ever since he was a kid, John was always curious about what was around the next corner. After leaving the Royal Marines, this sense of adventure has led him to some of the most inaccessible corners of the globe as an expedition leader and to set up Elite Survival Training which gives people the skills and confidence to go anywhere in the world. John's recent search for the Biami tribe in the Papua New Guinea jungle, led him to live with and gain an insight into the secrets of their culture, including the mystery of cannibalism and how it is understood today. @EliteSurvival

Sarah Outen MBE Sarah got into boats and water sports as a teenager, learning to kayak and sail on her local reservoir. At 24yrs old Sarah became the first woman and the youngest person to row solo across the Indian Ocean. Today she is part way through a bid to loop the planet using human power - rowing, cycling and kayaking from 'London2London:Via the World'. She will share tales of hopes, fears and failures, and how she has turned ideas and dreams into expeditions. "Adventure is a state of mind and a way of looking at the world. There are adventures and opportunities right in front of us, if only we care to see them and make them happen" @SarahOuten
