This is a really cool way to kickoff the week! First we'll enjoy a one hour walking tour to get oriented to Harlem's rich history, we'll at stop briefly by Minton's Uptown Playhouse, the birthplace of be-bebop jazz in the 1940's (newly re-opened), stroll through "Little Senegal" and up magnificent Malcolm X Boulevard and enjoy a Soul Food dinner at Sylvia's famous soul food restaurant -- open since 1962. We'll then invade the very hot and happening Red Rooster for some live music (no cover). Depending on the scene, the mood (and your energy) we may move on to another live music venue such as Shrine or Paris Blues (all no cover charge).
Link to Sylvia's for their menu and Red Rooster for the music:
If you have been on a previous Harlem tour with our group that has covered this part of the neighborhood please consider giving others a chance! Please try to bring cash for the restaurant as there will be one bill for the group and there may be a limit on the # of credit cards accepted.
Thanks so much!
