Happy Hour at the social headquarters of "Exploring NYC History and Neighborhoods!" Once a month -- instead of a walking tour or event -- we'll simply hang out and socialize! Feel free to drop in briefly or stay as long as you like. (At 8pm heading uptown on the A train for jazz in HARLEM). Join us for some informal networking and sharing your favorite New York stories and experiences. This will also be a great time to suggest ideas for future meetup tours and events.
Gavin, the owner of the Dark Horse Tavern welcomes our group members and promises Happy Hour Specials. The Dark Horse is also our venue for our NYC Trivia Nights! The Dark Horse has plenty of seating and a long, beautiful bar and good food! Here's a link: http://www.darkhorseny.com/
In belated honor of International Jazz Day (which actually is Wednesday, April 30th), at 8pm those who desire will TAKE THE A TRAIN uptown (25 minute subway ride and a short walk) to the heart of Harlem for some live jazz at an intimate down home place called Paris Blues on West 121st & Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. Music starts at 9pm, no cover, generally one drink minimum and pass that hat for the musicians. The often have free food too. I will do a mini-tour on the walk from the subway to the club.
Cheers from Hank!
