What interests you most about THIS particular photography group?

I’m addicted to workshops and learning opportunities and this group has the widest variety of workshops that I’ve seen from any Toronto meetup group.

Right now, what do you feel is your biggest barrier to becoming a better photographer?

Lack of creative energy, creative ideas; having to take a stand, any stand, on personal style; lack of patience to plan for and wait for the shot.

The types of events you'd like most - [1] One-day trips to new places in the GTA [2] Two-day wknd trips away -- [3] Just the opportunity to shoot interesting subjects -- [4] Workshops where I'll learn. -- Leave your top TWO choices, e.g., "1, 4" :

1, 3

I’ve been a photographer for 30 years, only making the shift to professional work in the past 10 years. Now, I’m interested in learning more videography and cinematography, visual storytelling in a moving medium.

What Margaux is saying about this Meetup Group

There are two challenges for me: 1. Coming up with an idea of how I want something to shoot and figuring out how to make it happen (I’m not much of a planner and even worse with following through on a plan); 2. My enjoyment of being in the moment and watching people’s natural behaviour and interactions with each other is far too interesting to me. Okay, and a third: 3. I’m more interested in the moments and the stories as they’re happening, less so in the Perfect Photograph. Which isn’t to say I don’t value these workshops because clearly I do if I’m coming to them. These workshops allow me to stretch out of my comfort zone to use my surroundings better, and I really appreciate that!
