I’m addicted to workshops and learning opportunities and this group has the widest variety of workshops that I’ve seen from any Toronto meetup group.
Lack of creative energy, creative ideas; having to take a stand, any stand, on personal style; lack of patience to plan for and wait for the shot.
I’ve been a photographer for 30 years, only making the shift to professional work in the past 10 years. Now, I’m interested in learning more videography and cinematography, visual storytelling in a moving medium.
There are two challenges for me: 1. Coming up with an idea of how I want something to shoot and figuring out how to make it happen (I’m not much of a planner and even worse with following through on a plan); 2. My enjoyment of being in the moment and watching people’s natural behaviour and interactions with each other is far too interesting to me. Okay, and a third: 3. I’m more interested in the moments and the stories as they’re happening, less so in the Perfect Photograph. Which isn’t to say I don’t value these workshops because clearly I do if I’m coming to them. These workshops allow me to stretch out of my comfort zone to use my surroundings better, and I really appreciate that!
