We're headed to West Virginia to photograph the New River Gorge Bridge, the longest steel-span in the Western Hemisphere and 2nd highest in the U.S. We'll use the Canyon Rim Boardwalk to get close, the Bridge Trail to go under the bridge, and Long Point Trail to get a panoramic view. There should be white water rafts in the New River in the early afternoon. In the quaint town of Fayetteville, there are also photo opportunities and a great pizza place, Pies and Pints, that has been featured on The Food Network. There are other options for eating, including fast food or brown bagging it. Please wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

There is also a bridge catwalk tour. This is not part of our meetup, but for individuals who might want this experience here is the link to information about it. http://www.bridgewalk.com/Tour-Information/tour-information.html
Roanoke area folks meet in the Salem WalMart parking lot on the left side close to the road at 8:00AM. We'll meet the New River Valley folks at the Park 'n Ride Exit 118B at 8:45AM. From Roanoke, it's about 3 hours to the bridge. If you would rather meet us there, we'll plan to be at the parking lot of the Canyon Rim Visitors' Center on U.S. Route 19, just north of Fayetteville, WV. around 11:30. There are tolls- $2.00 and .40.
