Lets get together and sing!
The transformational power of music and voice has been known by many cultures through the ages.
Several years ago, a good friend of mine, Adam Bauer, introduced me to the world of Kirtan and sacred chanting. Kirtan is one of the oldest sacred music traditions of the world, coming to us from India. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras (phrases that are repeated), and a call and response format (you don’t need to memorize anything), kirtan evokes sacred energies which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles, and bring us back to our core. I’ve found it to be a powerful practice for opening the connection to the ecstatic and my own deep joy.
For a while now, I’ve wanted to host Adam for a house concert and now the timing feels just right! After years of working with well-known Kirtan masters such as Krishna Das, Adam is finally launching his own CD.
Adam and his musician friends will be delighting us with a sampling of traditional Kirtan as well as his original work. Every time I've experienced Adam's voice, its affected me deeply.
If you feel drawn to making a contribution that day, all proceeds from the event will go to the production of his CD. You can learn more about him and pre-buy his CD through his Indigogo campaignhere.
I hope you can join us!
This concert is FREE with voluntary donations going to Adam's CD production costs. Chai and snacks will be served.
