ANATHEMA @ KOKO on Friday 26th Sept

  • September 26, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Already booked my ticket to see for the first time (alrightalright, shame on me, agreed) to this amazing band, with a solid career from Doom to Progressive, always trying to experiment and innovate, but sounding consistent, not taking the piss out of the fans bullshitting our ears.

If anyone hasn't listened to them yet, I'd recommend you to go for the last studio album "The Distant Satellites" (or maybe "Weather Systems") and for "The Silent Enigma", so different between them, but a good way of noticing the top quality of this band.

Amazing gig yet again. Seems to me you can't go wrong with Anathema. They could have added A Dying Wish to top it off.
Great to meet you guys and hope to see you again in the future.

I've heard a couple of songs by them, but no full albums. Might be worth a shot, thanks:)

Agree Jose, only noted one rum note & actually prefer heavier live sound to studio album. Thought crowd little subdued, problem with early gigs. Still great though.

There are not a lot of Metal bands you can say they sound at least as good as in studio. There were moments I thought they were sounding even better! Nice to meet you, boys, sorry we couldn't meet the girls, see you all on the next one!

Anathema immaculate, good to meet you guys, albeit briefly as I like the stalls more than Koko balcony. (Not so) fragile dreams everyone!

  • Jose

Anathema playing at 7.30pm guys, better not to be late!

Right, guys, they're apparently opening the doors at 6pm, so I think 7pm is a good time to get into the venue, so let's say: Black Heart at 6pm, Koko from 7pm. I will be there with Matt, James and whovever can do it from 6pm, and my mobile number is[masked] and I use Whassapp in case we can't find each other. Looking forward to it!

Black Heart sounds good. I'll aim to be there at 6pm.

I'll be there around 6 too. If you see me looking bewildered and lost, then please tap on my shoulder. I'm crap at recognising people:-D

Is there actually going to be a meetup this time?!

    September 11

The Victoria used to be my go-to pub before Koko gigs, but that's closed so The Sheephaven Bay is a possible.

Not a fan of the World's End. Black Heart at 6.30pm to leave for gig at 7ish and shoulder our way to the front row?

    September 22

  • Jose

Does anyone know any nice pub in Mornington Crescent to have the first one before getting in? I was about to say The World's End, but it would be better to meet up somewhete closer to the venue, well, if there's anything at all! :)

    September 22

  • Henry Suchar S.

Are you guys meeting up somewhere before the gig? Don't have anyone to go with so it would be nice to meet some of you:)
