FREE SFU Summer Festival 2013 (Anime & Japanese)

Let's enjoy a FREE, outdoor Japanese matsuri style event, presented by SFU Anime & ARC. There will be anime, cosplay and a strong encouragement to wear your Japanese yukatas! Please read the following details:

When: The festival begins at 2pm and finishes late (no time indicated).

***Please note: I will be meeting people at 1:45pm to join and walk them to the Convocation Mall. It's a straight walk down; don't worry, I know the way! However, I can only stay until 5pm as I need to make a mad dash to Trout Lake for the lantern festival event that I'm hosting there. You are welcome to accompany me to the lantern festival from SFU, but you MUST indicate that to me! Thank you!!!

Where: The Summer Festival will take place at SFU Burnaby Convocation Mall at about 8888 University Boulevard in Burnaby.

How to find us: I will be standing near the entrance of Renaissance Coffee at 8906 University High Street in Burnaby. Please bear in mind that SFU has two bus loops. There is a bus loop adjacent to Renaissance Coffee. I know the layout so I will guide people down to the Convocation Mall. Please refer to the pictures below.

This is the picture of where we will be meeting: Renaissance Coffee, and where you will likely see me.

This is the picture of one of the Convocation Mall entrances (festival location). These steps lead down towards the other bus loop. I will be walking us here so don't worry about going here. Just get to the Renaissance Coffee place.

Host Expectations: I am not a professional and as such I stronglyencourage all attendees to this festival and future ones to explore and wonder the grounds freely. This is an "organic", loose event that is not strict and linear. In other words, if you choose to eat something and I, the host, chooses to listen to music then I won't hold you against your will. At the same time, we're all adults and I won't be your guide in this event as I do intend to have a good time as well. You are more than welcome to hang around with me, just pleaserefrain from being clingy and go without any expectations in your mind. Remember, the main objective of this event and any festival event is to have fun, and that goes for the host as well!

***If you decide to bring family members or children you are responsible for them!

Waiver: The host, group, SFU, ARC, festival staff and associates are not responsible in any way for attending members. Members who RSVP YES for this event are solely and totally responsible for their own personal safety and well being before, during and at any time after the conclusion of this event. The host, group, SFU, ARC, festival staff and associates shall be held harmless and shall be unconditionally free forever of any and all liabilities, obligations and responsibilities to any of the attendees, guests and all third party individuals, relatives and representatives.
