You don't have to come right at 5:30, we will be around all evening until approximately 10:30 or so. Feel free to come by when you can. We will probably try to eat dinner around 6:15 pm or so. You also aren't obligated to stay the entire duration either. Just come & have some fun for the time you are able to.
I have also posted this in Vancouver World of Warcraft meetup group:
The Geeks and Gamers meetup group
Let's have a potluck & board game night. Bring along a small food dish, snack or item to share, we can get some yummy goodies with all of us together.
For beverages: BYOB - if anyone is planning on drinking alcoholic beverages, you are responsible for yourself and for your own driving & transportation.
I have booked the hall in my housing complex for us to use for the evening. It is the main stand alone building on the Left hand side as you enter off of 80th Avenue. The door is on the side of the building. Click on image below to enlarge.
There is absolutely NO visitors parking anywhere on the grounds, but there is free parking directly across the street all along 80th Avenue. Click on the image below to enlarge and see where the parking is.
The hall is a big open room that has some fold up tables and chairs, as well as a couple couches to sit on. There is a kitchenette there, with a fridge, stove, microwave, sink, kettle and coffee pot. I will have some plastic/paper plates etc - then we don't have to worry about dishes. There is also a washroom in this building as well.
Don't forget to bring your favorite game!
(sadly the hall doesn't have a tv or xbox or wii or anything yet - but I think that is something they are working on for sometime this year)
If you have any further questions or comments, please do let me know!
Let' get together & have some fun! :D
It is really handy if everyone says what they are planning on bringing for food - please let us know what you plan to bring so we can plan our foods as well.
For transit users - My complex is just over a block away from Scott Road (120th street). It's about a 10-15 min bus ride on the 319 from Scott Road Skytrain station. There is a stop on both sides of the road right at 80th and 120th, then its a quick walk down to the hall.
I will be limiting this to 15 people since its cross grouped with 2 other groups.
