[E] Bird watching at Iona Beach

My friend from Arocha will be taking some people out for bird watching. great opportunity to meet new friends and learn about birds and its role in the ecosystem.

Nearest station = Templeton station.

Please arrange carpool amongst yourselves.

If this becomes popular i'll see if we can get a hike/walk every other week.

we can grab a bit somewhere nearby or far away depending on what people want to eat. (Abby is doing an event at Golden swan)

=============

April 26: Listening to Sounds in Creation: Guided Bird Walk by Stanley Martin

Location: Iona Ponds, Iona Beach Park, https://goo.gl/maps/iJUcr

Birds are an indicator of an ecosystem’s health. Birds help also to disperse native plant seeds, a mutually beneficial relationship. We will have Stanley Martin lead us to identify water and woodland birds at the Iona Ponds and Woodland areas.

Meet us 8:30am at the very last Iona Beach Parking Area (by the toilets).

Clothing: Wear good boots or shoes that can get wet, and layer warm clothing. Best to wear waterproof pants & jacket depending on the weather. Sunglasses for wind protection.

Bring/Borrow binoculars if at all possible.

      As Lucky said, I've checked gmaps, too and realized that I could not get there by public transportation!! So, I need to ask someone to give me a ride from Templeton Station or somewhere near Canada line. Thanks in advance!

    There's a reason why they're called Early Birds. I've done bird watching before at Burnaby Lake and you do get more variety early in the morning (7AM)
