Women represent a growing share of today’s workforce. They are entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders in government and industry. At nearly 50 % of the labor force, women are in the position to drive our 21st century economy. Yet, they are still confronted with serious challenges such as the gender wage gap and underrepresentation at high levels of management.
With that being said, it is important now more than ever for women to have a financial plan in place that will assist them in achieving their financial goals while also protecting those they love most.
This group is designed to financially empower women and their families. There will be several finance seminars on topics such as Cash Management (Budget, Debt, Emergency Savings), Risk Management (Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, Health Insurance) and Wealth Management (IRAs, 401Ks, 403Bs and General Investment Accounts). Financial matters can be intimidating but I promise that the information provided in our seminars will be presented in a manner that you can relate to.
Here are some of the other topics that will be presented:
1. Real Estate Investment (Presented by: Kindle Martin)
2. Resume Writing
3. Interviewing Techniques
4. How To Purchase a Home
5. Creating Multiple Income Streams
8 mistakes to avoid in pursuing your financial goals:
1. Assuming your financial future is set, thanks to your employee benefits.
2. Not knowing how much you need in retirement.
3. Failing to take full advantage of matching retirement contributions.
4. Not having an insurance strategy.
5. Failing to consider financial goals and events other than retirement.
6. Worrying about things you can't control.
7. Assuming that owning many different investments means you're properly diversified.
8. Relying on financial advice for the masses.
If you can relate to one or more of these mistakes or have any questions, then you definitely need to join this group.
We will also be planning social events such as wine tastings, paint-n-sip, lunches, dinners, Jazz nights etc..... I want these seminars to be very informative while allowing you the opportunity to network with other members. I am open to suggestions for social events. The overall purpose of the group is to empower women financially by providing them with valuable information. Women are financially more mature than men so in order to financially empower our families we must first empower our women. Women can invite their spouses or significant other to accompany them to our events.
