Bi-Weekly Educational Meetups - January 15

Time to catch up on any of the great John Greengo meetups that you might have missed. I know that this session will cover:

Focusing
Subject Zones
Lenses
ISO
Manage Camera / Subject Movements

This should be the last of the John Greengo sessions. We will startup on off camera flash photography after this..

It was good. I've done a lot of reading online and taken a beginner photography course already, so i knew alot of the material covered, and still learned some new things, and it was nice to revisit some of the things i already knew. It also inspired some questions :)

    I'm glad i went.

    Hey

Quite a few people have asked about bringing equipment to these Educational meetups. These meetups (educational series) follow a rather structured format:

    7:30-7:45 - Greetings and introductions
    7:45-9:00 - Video instructions
    9:00-9:30 - Discussions and Q/A
9:30 - Get the heck out of my house!!

So please if you have questions about your equipment (like how do I change my focusing mode on my new Canon DSLR? or What does this button do? or Why does my lens fall off when I press this button?) are usually addressed during this time. We have a great group of folks who attend these meetups and most questions are readily answered. As far as costs are concerned; our policy remains that we charge nothing for these meetups. If you are interested in remaining a member of this group, we ask that you pay the $10/year fee on our web site.

    Thank you

    Parsh

This is my first meet, what equipment should I bring with me?

Since this is one of the educational videos, nothing is needed. Most people bring either a notepad or something to take some notes on. A few people might bring their camera to follow along with some of the camera settings that are discussed.

Is there a cost and is showing up at 745 feasible

Unless it's posted ther is no cost for meet-ups. Some do, but this one doesn't cost. Their is however the membership dues each year that help cover the costs of these sessions for those that attend the meet-ups. There is a link on the left side of the website.

As for showing up at 7:45. Make it when you can, the video session might start by then but you can always come in and join.

Again, this is a recap and a 'best of' the John Greengo series that we did at the end of last year. Let me know if there is anything else from the series that we should include.
