DIY Sessions - Very Very Long Exposure Shots

  • Feb 28, 2014 · 12:00 AM

Ok. First of all, this is not an official meetup. In other words, don't come to my house and expect to take very long exposure shots. Do this at your leisure and then post the shots. What is a very long exposure shot? Subjective, I know but I suppose anything longer than 1 second qualifies as a long exposure. If you feel adventurous crank it up to 30 seconds or go for the gold and shoot at a bulb setting. Post your pictures. Let us have fun with this...

Very frustrated with this project, and I mean very! Been out there twice and got nothing I care to post!

Btw, most long exposure work I have done usually doesn't go over 15 seconds.

I know this is old but you can use the built in meter in your camera to help set your exposure. remember to use the self timer and lock your mirror for the sharpest. Most cameras will not let you go longer then 30 seconds unless you use bulb. You pick a intervalometer and be able pick your exposure time.

It's Thursday and I noticed there is no location yet. I know I'm new to meet up but I have a suggestion how about Turkey point lighthouse at 8 PM
can always stop at McDonald's on 40 and 272 for coffee or hot cocoa before you go up the to the lighthouse

This isn't an official meet up. Just a challenge posed to the group to try out and improve their skills

I'm also new to the group and looking forward to meeting up with other photographers. Has anybody picked a location yet?

I have a question: will there be a meeting or are we just going to discuss the shots in here?

This is just a DIY style meetup. Here we won't have a formal meetup but just review / comment on these images..
