There are two opportunities for anyone who likes to photograph Classic Cars and Racing Cars.
Both are in Millville, NJ and both are about 1 hour from Wilmington, DE and Philadelphia, PA. Just get on Route 55 in South Jersey and follow the signs.
One is the annual Millville Classic Car show. Here they close off about 8 blocks of the main drag known as High Street and 6 blocks of side streets, and it usually draws about 500 plus classic and antique cars. There is no admission charge and it runs from 9 AM to 3 PM. It takes place on Saturday, 08/14/10. I suggest you try and get here
before 8 AM if you want some nice photographs of classics before there are a lot of folks mulling around. I usually show up about 7:30 AM. Note: don't bother if it is raining.
The second is the ARCA series of
racing. ARCA is a little brother of NASCAR, but the cars still put out 850hp. This is a rain or shine event and runs 2 days Saturday and Sunday, 08/14/10 & 08/15/10. This is a 150 mile race that takes place at the NJ Motorsports Park also in Millville, NJ. Here is a link for the track: http://www.njmp.com/ Of course there is an admission fee for this race, but children under 12 are free. Saturday are qualifying runs and Sunday the race begins at 1 PM.
Life is a desperate attempt to hold on to something that you know is not containable. My photography allows me to hold on to something precious.
Henri Cartier Bresson said it best; "Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again. " Welcome, and thank you for visiting our meetup site.
This meet up group is geared from beginner to the advanced photographer,so all types of cameras are welcome and is open to all age groups.
Everyone in this group has something to offer as a teacher. But more importantly, everyone in this group has a keen interest in learning....
