Meetup details changed: Another Fall in Philadelphia

From: Parsh M.
Sent on: Monday, November 1, 2010 12:59 PM

I want to make up for skipping out on the meetup next week. This meetup is designed to showcase the best of 'Old Philadelphia'. Here is the agenda:

We need to setup Car pools. Folks driving together should meet at 8:00 AM at:

  • For those in Newark/Bear area, I suggest we meet at Newark Train Station
  • For the Wilmington folks, I would suggest meeting at the Park and Ride near Prices Corner at 8:20. The newark Caravan will meetup with you at that time.

We will proceed together to Old City Philadelphia.

Old City Philadelpha - 9 AM - 11 AM
We will shoot in the historic old city area of the city. Rich in history and culture, this is one of the most photogenic areas of Philadelphia. If you want to shoot history, you have the old mint, Andrew Jackson's home, Franklin's grave, etc, etc. If you want old decaying buildings, you have you pick of buildings between Arch and Race on 2 and 3rd streets. You also have the old monster of a Steam plant on Callow Hill Steam Plant

Chinatown 11-12 Enough said. If you have not been there, it is a treat.

Lunch from 12 - 1

[Optional, but highly recommended] Eastern State from 1:30 - 3:30 - There is a $12 admission fee, plus a $10 fee for tripods. I would still recommend this as one of the great photographic experiences in Philadelphia. See here for more examples.. Eastern State

Head home at 3:30

Back home by 4:30

P.S. There is no 'Formal Charge for this meetup' However, please note the fees charged by Eastern State. Also, if you are a passenger in car pool, please remember to share the expenses of gasoline and parking.
