Join FAUN in Union Square on a Tuesday evening as we enlighten the public and expose the horrors of a day to day existence of our fellow earthlings. Animals are brutally raised, handled and killed. They are living, caring, feeling, sentients who are used as commodities. Our fellow EARTHLINGS are killed for their skin, fur, flesh, secretions, imprisoned and abused for entertainment, poked and probed for unreliable and useless experiments, and hunted and tricked for sport. It is time for us to wake up, to educate ourselves and educate others. Animals are not here for us, they are here with us.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 27, 2014

WHERE: Union Square South, across from Whole Foods

TIME: 5 ~ 8 pm

Public transportation- take the N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6 to the L train to Union Sq.

We’ll have video, posters, leaflets, and a banner. You only need to bring yourself.

Humane meat is an oxymoron, humane slaughter is right there with pleasant rape and child molestation; vegetarianism is not enough, not eating them but supporting an industry that kills and/or grinds up their babies is not restraining from murder, it’s paying for it. Welfare campaigns advocate for lessening the suffering, and while we do agree that animals have an interest in not suffering, they have an even more fundamental interest in not being part of the institutionalized exploitation that causes suffering in the first instance and deprives them of their fundamental right to not be treated exclusively as means to human ends. Our goal is to abolish the institutionalized exploitation, not merely to pursue a measure that may or may not some time in the distant future reduce suffering.

Join us in educating the public about VEGANISM. Most people already believe that causing unnecessary pain and suffering is cruel… so let's show them that there is a way in which their morality and their actions can coexist with compassion. It is called VEGANISM.

“We patronize the animals for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they are more finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other Nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time.” ― Henry Beston

These animals have no voices; OURS are the human voices who must speak up for them and fight for the rights which our species should have granted them millennia ago.

There is No Justice, there is JUST US, let us NEVER be found guilty of doing less than our utmost for the millions of innocents abused, made to suffer and tortured to death for human sickness, vanity and greed!

Some talking points when speaking with non-vegans

TIME CHANGE: Due to the rain and thunder storms threatening to cancel this event, we are changing the event time to 4-6 pm. During that time it's not supposed to rain. If you wanted to come, please try to be there during that time. Sorry for the late notice, but this is the best we can do regarding the weather situation.
