**Vegan Education Earth Day Table @ Farleigh Dickinson University**
Please join Evolve For Animals as we seek to educate the students and campus community of Farleigh Dickinson University about the moral and social imperative to abstain from all animal use and exploitation. Our table will feature free vegan food samples, EFA literature, and a multi-media station complete with internet access to our website, a short documentary on the environmental consequences of consuming animal-derived products, and a looped photo slideshow juxtaposing images of animals free in their natural habitat and in captivity for human consumption.
As matters of environmental degradation become increasingly more pervasive in our "civilization", it should strike us as quite peculiar that the single greatest cause of air pollution, water pollution, and deforestation has been speciously left out of the equation in the mainstream media: our commodification of non-human animals (a fact now officially acknowledged by the United Nations). From our shoes to our food, nothing creates a more detrimental impact that this, and yet we continue to hear only of light bulbs, recycling, hybrid cars, and shorter showers. While these notions are noble, let us remedy this overwhelming disconnect at this year’s FDU Earth Day Event, highlighting the undeniable impact that animal commodification has on the environment but also to discuss the inherent value of animals as members of our shared Earth and environment.
