******* FUR FREE FRIDAY demo @ Macy's on West 34th Street, NYC*******

This is it folks, the busiest shopping day of the year, as well as the central and most symbolic annual demonstration of the animal rights community's immutable outrage over the ceaseless trapping, confinement, torture and murder of 'furbearing' mammals, and the subsequent commercial sale/use of their skin/fur as whimsical "fashion" / luxury apparel, etc.

On the cusp of the annual shopping frenzy that sweeps our consumerist society like a hysterical, blinding wave, it is critical that we ACTivists do ACT, manifestly demonstrating our love and compassion for our furry mammalian cousins, sentient beings similar to us in so many ways, yet whom most of our society considers little more than live material, whose unique purpose on the earth is to be used/utilized in whatever manner humans see fit.

We who understand that animals live for their own purposes, that humans should be protecting them (vs. killing and using them), must take it upon ourselves to stand up for the innumerable thousands whose terrified screams go unheard, whose pathetic pleas for mercy are responded to with blows, with lethal poison gas, with instruments of maiming and torture.

On Fur Free Friday we must make a strong, declarative, vociferous show of solidarity, to let the heartless exploiters and the complicit consumers alike know that we animal lovers and liberationists are not going away; that we are united, strong and resolutely determined in our mission of exposing the industry lies/whitewash, working toward a day when the fur industry collapses indefinitely into abolition, and seeing our land-dwelling mammal friends free to live unhindered by humans, as much as is possible in habitats increasingly encroached upon by a continuously expanding human population. PLEASE come out and help us get the word out that compassion is the fashion, and fur is DEAD!

****FUR FREE FRIDAY NYC, 2o12 ****

WHERE: Macy's Department Store, 151 West 34th Street (between Broadway and 7th Avenue), New York, NY 10001.
WHEN: Friday, November 23rd, 2o12 { Fur Free Friday}.
TIME: From 1:00pm til 3:30pm.

On FFF, NY/NJ regional groups and activists will converge in a concerted effort to elevate public awareness about the plight of innumerable defenseless foxes, minks, raccoons, dogs and cats, and other mammal victims of the gruesome Chinese fur trade, who are violently and systematically removed from their natural habitats, corralled into inescapable death camps, crammed into tiny, filthy cages for months in ALL weather conditions, beaten, stomped on, anally electrocuted, gassed, bludgeoned to death, even SKINNED ALIVE so that affluent first-world consumers can gleefully, obliviously parade around, morbidly draped in the skins that are quite literally, ripped off these animals' backs as they helplessly writhe in overwhelming shock and agony 'til the final throes of death overtake them. This often means these poor, pathetic, skinless creatures writhe in mortal agony for minutes or hours before succumbing to their wounds; they are tortured and killed in the most horrifically cruel ways imaginable - all for vain, pretentious, human notions of "luxury apparel" and "fashion."

Jump into the ongoing campaign to STOP this insanity and work toward the total abolition of the global fur industry. Come out and HELP US make a vocal, public impact for the animals trapped and languishing in this insidious death trade, and to send a meaningful message to the heartless people who line their pockets with blood and entrails, who build their posh castles with the unspeakable screams of terror and suffering from countless innocent beings. For those unfamiliar with the realities of the horrible global fur trade, please take a few minutes to watch the following (Warning: graphic imagery!)

Disgusting? Horrible? Unforgivable? Agreed, so PLEASE come and help us to vocalize our extreme objection to this inexcusable, retrograde, medieval barbarism, to discourage/deter potential fur-shoppers from patronizing this retail dealer in death and torture, to enlighten the public to the grim realities behind their whimsical "fashion," and to encourage them to make more compassionate choices in shopping for winter apparel. In a world with so many great (and more economical) cruelty-free fabrics and styles, there really is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for this ongoing madness.

This year, as we do every year, CAAF and FAUN will be employing TWO HUGE VIDEO SCREENS and amplified sound depicting the horror of fur. Nothing reaches people like these images, be a part of the education! We'll be circumnavigating the entire store during our march. Please come!

Activists are invited to gather from 1:00pm forward in front of Macy's Department Store at 151 West 34th Street. If there are any questions about directions to and from this location in Manhattan, please call CAAF organizer Julie at [masked] and kindly leave a message including contact information, or send an e-mail to [masked]

We and other groups participating in Fur Free Friday will have plenty of signs, literature and relevant props to share with interested members of the general public. All YOU need to bring is yourself and your voice to speak up for the voiceless, who cannot articulate their own wish to freely live out their lives under the sun, to frolic and to bear young, to behave in accordance with their own natures with no interference from our species.

Blessed be all animals, and all friends of animals...

A stupendous turnout & a tremendous Fur Free Friday! Anti-fur activists from all over NJ and NY, some warm and familiar old faces as well as a multitude of new ones converged in front of Macy's Dept. Store on 34th St in NYC, to simultaneously educate the public on the myriad profit-driven horrors intrinsic to the fur industry, as well as exhibit our collective revulsion with a world-famous retail outlet whose profits might even be BENEFICIALLY affected were they to show themselves a progressive, compassionate, forward-thinking retail chain by discontinuing permanently all sale of fur and all products w/ fur trim. Not two but THREE wide screen TVs were employed, powered by Jack's megawatt generator which comfortably fueled the entire 3-station audiovisual media apparatus. Well over a hundred activists added their voices/hands to the effort (including a noisy, two-lap march around the block), & CBS News came and covered us, guaranteeing much wider exposure than just NYC. AWESOME demo!

**Attention, NJ/NY animal activists! If you are A) a resident of NJ, B) planning on attending Fur Free Friday, and C) would like to be more involved with FFF on a logistical/organizational level, we could use your help!**

As most/all of you know, this event is being co-sponsored by Caring Activists Against Fur (CAAF) and Friends Of Animals United NJ/NY (FAUN). The electronics apparatus required to run a demo of this scale far exceeds what is required of us in normal/ordinary protest scenarios - such that even with Julie (organizer of CAAF) and myself (founder/head org of FAUN) filling our vehicles to max. capacity, a significant among of equipment, gear, literature etc simply will not fit, at least on my end.

What we need is atleast one volunteer with a car to help me load/transport gear from my location in Central NJ up to NYC for the Fur Free Friday demo, and then back down to my house in CNJ to unload and store gear at demo's end. This is the most visible and widely publicized anti-fur event on the annual calendar, and it is critically important that we use all the equipment/resources available to us in getting the anti-fur message out there to a largely uninformed public - an ocean of potential fur/fur trim-purchasing "consumers." On Fur Free Friday, I urge you to stand up and volunteer your time/energy alongside us for the noble end of pushing this horrible, torturous, bloodthirsty animal-murdering industry into a permanent moratorium!!!

If you think you might be able to help in this effort, please contact me by means most convenient to you.
