As you have already heard our Regional Atheist Meeting was a success. And if you read the email from FLASH's President, Bob Senatore, you know we have been given a 10,000 dollar challenge. What that means is every donation to FLASH will be matched dollar for dollar up to ten thousand.
Mr Louis Appignani and his foundation look for growing and active groups such as ours to support and his generosity has helped the American Humanists Association, American Atheists and others in the recent past.
We don't want to miss this opportunity so we have made it easier for you to donate by putting the story and a pic of Mr Appignani holding the check above the "CHIP_IN" donate button on our website... www.freethoughtflorida.com
Click on this button and it will take you to our PayPal page.
If you have been thinking about becoming a dues paying member of FLASH...NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT !
Atheists of Broward County dba FLorida Atheists And Secular Humanists is a 501c3 charitable/educational corporation so all donations are tax deductible. This is a great opportunity to get the most "bang for your buck". When you become a member your 45 dollar a year membership dues will count as a tax deductible donation in the 10,000 challenge and puts 90 bucks in our treasury.
If membership isn't in your plans right now, any amount will be greatly appreciated.
There is no time to waste ! " The 10,000 Challenge" will end on January 1st, 2012 !
Your tax deductible donations will help us support all our local communities and allow us to mount an offensive against the religious right's intrusion into our lives.
Did you know there are bills being filed for the upcoming legislative session in Tallahassee that will directly impact your life ?
Senate bill 98 makes prayer in schools mandatory. Do you want your children forced to pray if they attend a public school ?
Amendment 7 will change the wording of the state constitution to allow your tax dollars to go to churches and religious groups. This amendment recently was struck down by a judge because it's wording was confusing. But rest assured, the religious right will word it so it passes judicial muster before the elections in November. If this passes, our tax dollars will be used to build more churches which will take more real property off the tax roles. This means your Property tax bill will go up.
We must make our voices heard and we have to have the funds to do it.
