Hello my fellow freethinkers,
Happy Solstice !
If you have planned on attending but have not RSVP'd to [address removed] please do so today. I need a head count so I know how much food to buy. So far I am planning on 30 of us. I will have burgers, dogs, dark and white meat chicken.
As a heads-up, if you want to "grill your own", please feel free to bring whatever you like and the same if you have a particular taste in pretzels n' chips, pickles or condiments.
Also, bring bottled water and/or the soft drinks you prefer. The concession stands may have a limited selection, be quite pricey, and going to a store means a road trip out of the park.
As a reminder, this is a state park and they don't permit "adult beverages" but they probably won't be checking the contents of you plastic cup either. ;0)
Remember to bring a side dish ! Some ideas would be chips and pretzels, potato salad, macaroni salad, chili for chili-dogs or side dish, cole slaw, pasta salad and baked ziti.
Frisbees, baseballs and gloves, volleyball net and ball and footballs ect., are good things to have with you. If you would like to do a beach dive bring your dive gear. We do have a couple of divers in the group.
When you have entered the park there will be a charge to get in. After that, proceed 1.7 miles north into the park, past the marina on the left and over the bridge. The pavilion parking entrance will be on your right. Go to the southernmost parking area and you will see the pathway to the pavilion.
This is all about getting together and everyone pitching in to have a good time.
If you already know what you are bringing, let me know so I can coordinate.
