Guys I'm totally lost in this chatt, so what time and where are we meeting? and are we supposed to bring something?

    January 6, 2013

    • Rebecca

The are food vendors, so you don't have to bring anything unless there is something specific you want...

      January 6, 2013

  • Rebecca

    I'm on my way!

    January 6, 2013

I just posted a map that Rebecca sent me ... it shows where we will be sitting. To view it, go to the menu above and click on "More". From the dropdown menu, choose Files. Then click on the item titled "jazz brunch". The map will display.

    Hope this helps!

Is the meeting spot where Rebecca stated? This will be my first outing (if you can beleive that) and I want to be in the right place at the righ time!

well, if you come to my spot, you will certainly be in the right place! :-)

I will stake out a spot in front of the museum, by the main gazebo, off 2nd street...

Hello all, we changed the number of RSVPs. Not sure how you will find us.

    1 · January 1, 2013

Didn't Rebecca say she will be arriving early and stake out a spot near the Museum Of Discovery & Science? If so, then locating should be easy.

      January 1, 2013

  • Mark

I am new to the group and frankly confused. Am I invited or do I have to get on the waitlist?

    January 1, 2013

    • Mitch

Since this event is in the great outdoors and bring your own food or buy from vendors, I think numbers are a formality only and you are welcome. Only when we book restaurants with number of seats would this come into question. Happy New Year.

      Mark, Come on by.

      January 1, 2013

  • Michael W.

I am assuming that this is going to be a bring-your-own preferred dish-for-one, rely on the vendors for food, or just stop by to enjoy the music (it's only three hours long!). Since it ends at 2:00 p.m., there's always the possibility of people going for a light meal someplace afterwards, too Looking forward to seeing y'all!

I am working a charity talent show for victims of Hurricane Sandy and have to be there by 2:00pm. I will be joining all of you from 11:00am-1:00pm.

      December 30, 2012

I am all about the vendors!!! I was only offering to bring something because it looked like the direction we were going in...Rebecca--let's try and organize the mimosa thing so that we all help out with that in some way. Coming the furthest, I have no problem on those that live closer providing the goods so that it is a bit chilled and the rest of us chipping in financially :)

We could do just both? Like we could bring light stuff I. E. Cupcakes and get vendor bought food? So it's a win win? ;)

However, I would prefer just vendors =)

      December 18, 2012

  • Marquis E

Okay, I was talking to a few people. They said that they would like to sit and listen to the music, but also enjoy food from the local vendors. With it being a pot-luck, I think that will put a hindrance on people to create or provide something that everyone can eat. I am a vegetarian as most know, and that limits me of what I can eat. So, at a restaurant, I have some choices. This is NOT about me, but this is just an idea. So, Please let me know your thoughts. Eat at a vendor or pot-luck. Thank you all.

      I prefer a vender

      December 18, 2012

  • Rebecca

From my standpoint, this was not intended to be a potluck. There are plenty of food vendors around. My plan was to bring mimosa fixings for all and find food there for myself. That being said, if kumar brings cupcakes I will certainly have one if it's decadently chocolate!

The bottom line: bring food for yourself if you don't want to take a chance on the food that's there. If you bring food to share, keep in mind that it may or may not be enjoyed by others. No one should feel pressured to bring any food, as this is not a potluck. There is food there available for sale. If someone brings something to share, and I am tempted, I may try it or I might not.

    That's my 2 cents.

Mea culpa. I didn't mean to be "cute" -- either it's just my nature and, and amusing to some; or annoying as hell, in which I apologize. Anyway, I'm not much of a cook -- if I was, I'd have joined the LGBT Potluck Bring-a-Long Meetup. AND, I choose not to eat carbohydrates, which rather limits my ability to eat most foods consumed by most humans (e.. latkes and the like are pure carbs).

As such, I will agree to do whatever the rest of the meetup group wants to do; and if "bringing your own" is the thing, I'll no doubt show up with ... wait for it, wait for it, wait for it ... store bought fried chicken and mimosas. And even then, I can't drink the O.J.

Or, if you all prefer, start a list and I'll bring whatever you all need.

I just prefer to keep things simple, that's all.

I will definitely bring/make something and will get back to you when I've had time to think about it :)

Early responses are cute but don't seriously address the question at hand. This may be an opportunity for everyone to make something they are famous (or infamous) for, an appetizer, entree(s), desserts, beverages, paper goods, etc;;;. Let's here from organizers on this issue and I will go with majority. For myself, I can make potato latkes (Jewish french fries!! LOL)

    December 17, 2012

  • Rebecca

Great, Jim! My thought was to grab a sport in front of the Museum of Discovery and Science, as that (if i remember correctly) seems to be the biggest open area). I'll bring a sheet and some chairs and my gazebo just in case we can use it. I was planning to get there around 9:30 to grab the spot. Do you think that's early enough?

      December 17, 2012

Are we bringing our own food or bringing something to share? If people want to share like a picnic, perhaps we need to arrange who is bringing what so there is little overlap.
